I just skipped home from the gym! Well the orthoguy was awesome, he was black and I mean US black not broken english black. Hate to sound culture-phobic, but I've had many doctors that were foreign that didn't inspire confidence from my HMO McKaiser. This guy seemed to know exactly what I was talking about and had a plan right away - answered all my questions, yay! So my good news is I can work out all I want and I won't do any more damage. The bad news is that I have somehow damaged a nerve at the bottom of the back of the neck which controls the boobie (that's a medical term). So the boobie itself is fine, it's just not getting the right signals. He says after 2 months if it't not better to return and they do nerve tests and a catscan. He also said if we do a cat scan they can also scan the sternum to see if I have torn something in there - cartlidge damage which he says is tough to deal with there as it's right over the heart. Eh - at least I have a direction to go in.

So I went to the gym and SUCKED. You have no idea how lame I felt only being able to do 6 reps with 50lbs on the bar, 2 quarters, my warm up morning weight!? I wound up finishing with bar plus 30 lbs. Most of my other weights were ok but...bleah!

Still, when I left I just felt so alive! I miss these fucking endorphins! I may not but lifting much but my god...the mirror is still good to me. Weak sure, but I'm pretty!

not to sound too silly

Does your body start to degrade if you miss your gym times or is it more of a prolonged effect?

I feel your pain - haven't been to the gym in 3 weeks because my body is in full tendinitis flare and it SUCKS. I can see the muscle mass going down, and I feel lousy. I'm hoping to start up again next week.
