More evidence burdened posting / guilt-induced posting isn't effective?
I was hanging out on my dc porch this weekend and wondered if it wasn't pushy to think you have the right to say hey to everyone just by virtue of the fact you're on your steps. A criticism of gentrifiers / whites is they don't talk to the neighbors. What if it's aggressive and demanding to force strangers to interact socially?
I saw a black dude walking down the sidewalk yelling his angry rap lyrics and was not a fan of either. Then he went up to the friendly group of people on a porch across from me. My opinion changed.
I'm curious to see how I integrate into my neighborhood. I like to think a lot of stories will come from that. I'd rather not cut them to twitter posts.
