12 years and it was still George’s voice on the phone, Jill in the shower, and the tv in the living room. Now I look at the forces that made that moment and don’t know if it matters what day it was. Fear was an effective weapon before and after then, multiple world powers trained terrorists in many countries during the cold war, technology was making it easier and cheaper for radicals to cause larger damage, and this wasn’t even the first time at that particular target. If not that, then something else, some other time. But I’m nostalgic and for me, even with all critical analysis, it will always be that morning on that day.
