My god go to Baltimore and get cake from "Sweet bakery" on Read Street, Mt. Vernon.

Don't let the ace-of-cakes fancy pictures fool you - my god the cake is unreal good. Oddly, it's also not crazy expensive. I got slices of cake the size of sweet bricks of butter for regular cake prices. Let's put it like this - twice now I have _not finished_ a piece they gave me because it was too big, too rich, and too good. My god...this is it. Oh the cake.

NPR had a neat debate the other day - no idea what I was listening to, but in a call-in discussion about the media in general, a caller ranted about the crappy job the news is doing, how lazy their reporting is as they just rehash press releases and give worthless opinions about the horse-race nature of primaries, while only c-span did in-depth coverage...and a panelist responded that to aide in that mission the caller should BUY PRINT PUBLICATIONS that provide that type of in-depth analysis! Zing! She went on to note the medium of (written) was more conducive to in-depth analysis than television or radio, but ultimately because it is a profit-driven market whatever people choose to view is what will be presented. The ratings favor fluffy, and the news panders to what people want to watch.

I think I miss the days of people watching crap but lying on the Neilson ratings book to show they wanted smarter programming.
