On 9/11 Janna and I walked by a group of "protesters" outside the church and pope memorial garden with signs that said
"Peace Is Patriotic."
They were adults in button-down shirts, one family with children, and generally mature professional folks. They were singing church hymns. I think they were all white.
The Ravens game had just let out.
From a pick-up truck, a man yelled at them: "DOWN WITH OBAMA!"
In case you wonder why I made a shirt that says "Domestic Expatriate."
