Aug. 23rd, 2011 12:17 pmI woke up between 3:30 and 4 am a few times to the sound of people talking outside "in the smoking area." I couldn't complain, and didn't feel like it either - it was on me for leaving the windows open, and they weren't loud at all - just talking. It sounded familiar, I swore I heard a twink in the mix. I couldn't get back to sleep though, and made the coffee I ground last night.
Sadly I can tell the difference between good coffee and shit coffee, even in iced coffee. So much for saving that money. On the other hand, having denied myself as I worked my way through the bag of french roast safeway coffee off the clearance rack, drinking the real thing made me almost drop...um, I enjoyed it a lot.
Since I didn't book my late work hours last night, I took off for an early pre-lunch workout and voting in the local primaries. I heard voices in the hall, and a boy and girl held the door for me. She was trashy looking, blond with a pink streak in her hair - he was a pierced twink. I think I'm jealous of my Ke$ha neighbor's lifestyle, and I know I'm jealous of what I can make up in my head. I mind waking up even less for a bunch of partying 20-somethings. Hope that all works our for them.
The gym was fail, fail, fail. I pulled the 5/3/1 auto-site and it makes a higher program than mine, but not by much. Still, today I was supposed to hit 125 for 5 and I only got 3. I even waited 5 minutes and tried again - might have been my head but I only got ... none. Not even one. On the bright side, my 5 sets of 10 got mostly done until the 5th one on my 5th set when something in my chest felt pulled so I just stopped. Also bright was 3 sets of 5 pull ups (or should I be chinning?) without much elbow pain. I could have done more, but I'm far more interested in healing my elbow than strengthening my shoulders and back.
They're hot and dangerous - I'm old and creaky. I don't mind though, it's kinda cute.
