Jul. 6th, 2011 06:18 pmBase of Operations went well and fun - was lucky everyone had about the same amount of energy and patience for the distance walked vs. size of fireworks metric. Oddly, food lasted just about right. Drinks...well it would take a more medium-sized army to polish off my rations there. Also oddly background noise of top gear is quite popular with the colonists.

I am well aware my love of B'more is biased as I hang out solely in Hampden, Hopkins, and Mt. Vernon. It's odd looking at the gorgeous old buildings and realizing we don't make anything like them anymore, and the ones we have are quickly eroding under acid rain. Nobody cares if our prefab styrofoam homes or big square-box glass buildings (with windows that don't open) survive, though likely they will. Carved stone art will be replaced by leggos.
People...you tell me. Where is the line between successful and yuppie douche? Between hot-fit and ragingly insecure? Artistic and irresponsible? Intelligent and neurotic? A character or just trashy?
