So I have maybe switched to Progressive insurance, but am balking (haven't told Geico to cancel yet so I'm double-insured?) because they are saying I didn't qualify for the good credit discount. They pulled my credit report, which I have already reviewed earlier this year, and noted the following 3 bad credit factors:
1. Home note less than 8 years old
2. No car note in over 10 years
3. Applied for a credit car in the past 2 years
Really!? Notice the lack of "low income" or "ever missed a payment of any kind in his entire over 20 year history, which includes multiple mortgages and a car note, plus revolving credit..." How is this "failed to use credit a lot" counted as bad!? Depending on how much that discount might be I may tell them to bugger off on principal.
On the opposite side of the coin, I'm driving with a monitor in my car now. For another discount, I'm driving the car with a device plugged into the electronic port which auto-records and sends info to them. I can see it online - neato! They aren't telling me 100% what they monitor, but this isn't to keep a discount but to get another. They have noted the check mileage (makes sense), time driven, and "hard stops" defined as sudden decreases of more than 7 mph.
I drive crazy mellow but am having fun noting the violations that won't be detected. Speeding I don't know - I rarely go over 70, but I don't slow down for exit ramps. I suspect I can go 55 in a parking lot and not set the thing off. I can roll all the red lights and stop signs I want. I rarely slow down suddenly, and so far my # of sudden stops remains zero. My mileage will likely be less than I reported, but they note that driving from midnight to 4am is high risk. In that case, my club drive may be screwing me out of this discount. I should drive drunk at noon just to show my independence! Yeah!
Guy in the gym told me he liked my shorts, how they outlined my figure so subtlety. Kind of like that cruise! Hey - I may be taken but I'm all about the polite pick-up attempt. "click"
(hey I should get more of these)
