TSA pat downs and anonymous naked scans? Big deal.
I support the giant debate about privacy and wasted efforts on things that don't find bombs (if we full scan, can we please leave our shoes on?) but I also don't care about the invasion of "privacy" when you choose to fly on government subsidized airlines.
1. You don't need to fly at all - you can take trains or drive (some phobics do this already)
2. All airlines are subsidized by the taxpayer from airport regulation, to direct subsidization of airports, subsidized flights to small towns, and of course the entirety of TSA
3. The trade off in planes-not-exploding is easily worth the inconvenience and indignity of being treated the same as everyone else by low-level security staff

My view is that, as I fly a lot, I'm thrilled to profile, judge, pat, scan, and anything else that keeps me safe. I don't think it all makes sense - I'd like to keep my shoes on and rather not be radiated in the name of free competition (see the TSA competition in scanners issue) but overall I don't think it's so bad to be seen faux naked on a secret screen somewhere if it keeps me from going all explodey in the sky.

USians are so spoiled. Try flying Israeli air sometime.
