I'm boring

Work is chock full of politics! I am/was scheduled to be off Fri, but at work on Thur around 12:30 the phone rang and I found out to my surprise we had just been called to a meeting at 3pm downtown. As a political side-note, our entire branch has been kicked out to Beltsville MD despite our allegation that we might need to report downtown making it stupid to kick us out to the burbs (took me an hour and change to get back to my car in rush hour after the meeting).

I'm a trooper so I immeidatly swapped into some suckup clothes and headed downtown. The 3pm meeting was full of Mr. Bigs. My personal highlights were 2: 1) seeing our bigwig being much stronger and more active, which was good. 2) I got yelled at by the mormon closet jackass because I told him I was acting on the marching orders I had received in our prior meeting. He essentially yelled at me for misinterpreting the conversation...you know, the one where I was talked down to, given an order, and I explained what I would do to implement this order? Oh, and then followed it up with written confirmation? Yeah, I uh...misinterpreted that. Of course I'm no fool so I apologized for any using confusing terminology. In any case, my concerns have been elevated to higher yet levels and ... well I'm happy about the impact my reports have had, freaked a tad that it took someone explaining to them that when they give an order it will be carried out until they countermand that order, and freaked that it took someone explaining to them that when we engage in litigation, we don't just schedule things to happen at our pace - hearings are set up by Judges...these people are way too used to getting their own way.

I'll be working Sat, again, for yet another seires of internal reports. I may just type the whole thing with one hand so I can juggle my sweaty jewels the entire time I write the drivel.

In other news, while I missed a workout today, my last "what's left of my workout" was exciting: I squatted 10 more lbs than I used to, 265, for 3 sets of 5. So, more weight and more reps that I used to do - neat! The warm-ups are cake by design, but it's really odd doing the 3 sets of 5. The first set seems really hard, with the last rep often a struggle. Now that I actually wait 3 minutes inbetween sets, that 2nd set really feels almost like cake so far. The last set is where I face the regular exhaustion I used to get at 8 or so those few times I reached it. SO - it seems the sets and warm-ups really help with the mission of teaching my body to expect and handle increasing loads of weight. My bigger lesson is that my usual warm-up and increase of max weight strategy of "what is the most convenient way to load the bar" might not be as effective as this simple "every other day we add 5 lbs" issue. Neato. Of course, I'm hoping I keep up the weight until I reach 275 because that's easy to load onto the bar. Plates are quarters I can work with, but I get annoyed toying with nickels, dimes, and those absurd 2.5 lb nipple-sized weights.
