Shopping yay!
Jun. 7th, 2009 01:07 pmIt's been a good weekend for silly shopping. Well, Saturday was Artomatic with friends - we were there for hours but only got 3 floors done. I pass the place on the way home from work (when I do that route) so I could easily go there again, should. This has nothign to do with shopping as no art was purchased by us. Today was more about shopping for we went to the flea market at Courthouse. Janna scored a movie while I got 3 classic ads, matted, from the New Yorker for only $3 each from 1938 (Old Spice) 1942 and 44, both of huge binding female undergarments with "magic yarn that makes things fit!" These will be framed and put in the bathroom. I also got an amazing piece - a funeral coffin key, which is actually a crank. You use it to crank a coffin closed and then remove the key (imagine a classier Ikea allen wrench). The coffin can not be unlocked even with the key at that point (I was told). $20. Then on the cheap I got 2 "Space Command" jacket patches for only $3 which I think I'll be sewing into my army jacket (it's starting to go threadbare, so the punk rock factor as I salvage other dying clothes will go up.
Finally, I got El a present that I won't spoil by telling anyone what it is yet. Hee!
