Apr. 2nd, 2009 12:22 pmMy home away from home and place where I pretend I'm socially connected is going to move away, and instead "Liberty Tavern" is taking over.

On the other hand, I could always try the java shack where go records used to be. I loved me my murky though - worried it'll be yuppified with other people. However, I could tell this was something to be enjoyed but not something that would last forever.
I want everything I like to last forever.
I am so busy at work I just gave up an opportunity to process an appeal from a guy for whom they discovered pr0n on a government computer that covered 3 volumes of folders, inducing "teens" and animal action. It would have been like working at 4chan for an entire case.
LJ is available here but deadly slow today - I think they might have canned eljay from the office. When sites come up after several minutes, no pictures or even icons are visible - it's 100% text. Many people can't eljay from work, so that might be my last available "look outside" without paying for my own access and lugging a laptop to work. They're also talking about taking away the ability to save files off the network at all or send emails to non-gov sites. This security crap is out of control - at some point we lost our way of having the IT people enable us to do our jobs and instead working for the IT people. I think the problem is the decision makers at the top of agencies don't understand computer or culture of their workers. Ugh.
Working overtime for about the next 4 weeks.
