Long post about work  )

(sum - I was right, they were wrong, and had they listened to me we now would have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars. Oops on you.)

We're also getting more initiatives to work flexible time schedules and at home. I'm already working at home about 2 days a week, we're talking about the possibility of me 'desk sharing' with someone so I can work downtown more often...the job is just looking more and more like a dream job (surrounded by nightmares). Gee, can I live on this salary if it is only 40 hours a week, pays me to travel, gives me autonomy, lets me work at home 2 or more days a week, has flexible (hangover) scheduling, with a boss who is gym-sympathetic?

In other news my friends just rock. Life is seriously full of not sucking right now, and while it's about fucking time, I likes me this right now. Hope it lasts.

Here's a simple rule:
If someone need to take a long time to explain their side, they're probably wrong.
This applies to everything from science to morality. Today, my points about the case were simple - and the defensive response was logical, but it took so many twists of logic to get to an answer in which I was wrong that...you really had to want to believe that to move so far away from my simple truth. I remember this from psyc - whenever the model gets too complex, the more likely it is to be wrong. Like fools, liars come up with some convoluted paths which if you're fool enough to follow, you may find a truth that isn't true.
Simple can be wise.
