(no subject)

Last night I was happy to find that some family trauma (to be distinguished from drama) is settled, which made me feel far better than I thought it would. There is no greater pleasure than the cessation of pain.

Last night I made it through cardio, so I'm officially "well."

Today has started with nothing but good work news! I walked in and the fax was yelling for paper, I loaded it and the first thing that popped out was a (short) order from the judge on my formerly worst case - the one the attorney just withdrew from...granting my compel order, and denying theirs! I thought I had winning arguments, but never imagined that I'd win hands-down. This was filed by the attorney, so I didn't just win by default here - wow. THEN I checked my in-box, and found the arbitration I assisted on finally had a decision issued - and not only did we win, but we won virtually every argument we put forth. This is beyond good, not just for the victory, but for the likely precedent it sets for the same parties and arbitrator were whom I faced in my subsequent arbitration hearing (decision pending). It would be hard to lose now that he's ruled in the Agency's favor on so many arguments I put forth. I likes this winning thing. I'm so glad I found a job that so closely suits my character flaws!

Rikk used the term comfort gaming...I think my job is something like that most of the time. I like writing, I like arguing, I like making fun of people, and I like winning...all of which I get to do and get paid for! What is wrong with this world that I get paid for this?

Does anyone else thing that they've gone a little overboard putting strobe lights on vehicles? I noticed a while ago they put flashing strobes on school busses, regular busses followed (some with old-school cylon pacing led lights). I think it was overkill when Giant food put flashing yellow strobes on their delivery vans. Today I passed a construction equipment carrying truck that was nearly surrounded with flashing vegas yellow strobe lights. How long is it before all of us are mandated to drive illuminated disco balls down the street? Do I love it or hate it? When we back up, with a disco "BUUUU chakka wakka wakka BUUUU" go out rhythmically?
