Unicorns poop marshmallows

I am highly annoyed to find out that despite taking the exam half way through the semester, they will not post grades for the class until other classes post grades at the end of term. Ow.

I am surprised after a few of my benefit statement from the gummint to find that if I maintain my salary retire at 56 I get a monthly retirement amount of $2,255, 60/2505, 62 2921. They also estimate that my TSP will generate 56/8328, 60/11815, 62/14323. I think I can live on that, but who knows what the cost of living will be that far in the future. That doesn't include my private investments / real estate of course.

This week I go to Chicago, and I think I'm forsaking the computer for this trip. I have a reason to come back early if I can, and really the timing of this trip makes me sad. I have a friend in Chicago (hi Michelle!) and know they have a club scene, but I'm not going to be able to play. This blows monkey-full-of-cookies chunks because most of my career will be spent going out to tiny towns, with rare cities in the mix. That I get a great city at a time I can't play is painful.

Been told that even arbitration briefs should be 10-20 pages long max, so my 44 page monstrosity leaves me thinking I used the wrong litigator's sample. I'll see what type of commentary I get back from the review team. At least they won't call me lazy.

I'm in Emp law, but I just got an email that my ethics exam score is up - only a 98 scaled. The avg is scaled 100 - so I'm right on average...which for me sucks, but I didn't try very hard either. In DC I only needed a 75 to pass, VA needds 85, and in MD it is mixed in their bar questions. In short, I didn't do well, it doesn't matter, and I passed.

Tonight on the way home from class I'm buying a used cd player. Fuck Apple.
