Well it's official: they skipped over the applicants with law degrees and picked the uneducated white redneck woman who comes in late, takes long lunches, skips out early daily, and delegates virtually all of her work...as the new branch chief of ER. Nepotism is huge in the gummint.
I get a certain sick glee from "I told you so." In a case in which I heavily argued we should not prosecute, in which I was overruled and an employee was removed, we SQUEAKED by an AJ and MSPB - inexplicably winning the case. I just found out the case was then taken to Federal Court, where the Fed Court of Appeals overturned the MSPB. The grounds were not related to my criticisms, but in the decisions they cited some of the same issues I said made the case not worth pursuing in the first place. I love being right, not that anyone will give me credit for arguing for something that might have saved us a couple years of backpay and megabucks in legal expenses. For the empty room: "I told you so."
