Yesterday I discovered that not only is a wash-n-extract vacuum cleaner worth every bit of it, I found that about ten years of trying to keep the rug clean still resulted in cups of black and brown grit that came out when "the questioning got serious." I'm more excited than I should be about my "new rug."

I'm also more excited than I should be about my new shoes (cross trainers and hiking shoes, in my wide width, from joesnewbalanceoutlet) and clothes. I've been wearing the same things for years - shirts made for average americans my height, now swapped for shirts in european (or slim, COUGH). My plain old sweats replaced with fleece-lined softness. Simple domestic bliss.

The drive to work was a breeze at 6:30 am - just wet roads and no one acting like idiots. SPEAKING OF IDIOTS, we just got a flyer at work asking people that even if they have a handicapped parking flyer due to a disabled relative, to please leave the close-in handicapped spaces for people who have physical disabilities and would benefit by the parking spaces. THAT'S how common using fake handicapped parking is - the few people with actual disabilities can't get parking. I'm about done with the entire issue. I'm one of a few people that use the door to open the bathroom - everyone else uses the button. This country deserves every health problem it causes itself, including the lung problems for wasting energy.

I've discovered the meaning of our life. Mankind is on the planet for one simple purpose: to spawn life capable of living in space from deep ocean vents. We are here to make toxins and otherwise make the planet uninhabitable through chemical and biological destruction. The life that then survives at the high pressures and odd chemical mixes in ocean vent areas will be that much more ready to fly off into space and survive the horrid temperatures, chemical complexities of living where materials are so sparse, and objects fly so fast.

Heard NPR this morning talking about compromise bills in congress on the abortion issue - actually trying to prevent pregnancy. There are small moves to push education programs, which I love. The criticism was that extremists on both sides avoided compromise due to the lack of interest of their constituencies, but I must say that I'm SO LEFT on this issue that I believe you should be able to abort a child until they are about 9 years old AND children should only be raised by open-relationship gays, I love the idea of meeting in those places we share agreement. I want everyone to have abortions, hell if people aren't financially prepared to have kids they should be forced to abort. That said, abortions are surgery and no-one is pretending they're easy on any of the parties involved. I have always preached that avoiding pregnancy was the first issue, and that abstinence was the dumbest idea I ever heard of. I mean they can say it, but don't want my money on a program that has been proven to cause more stds and pregnancies than it prevents. BUT if they will put out realistic pregnancy programs, even saying "you don't have to shag" mixed with "but if you do, here are some ways to bang-a-bang w/o making babies" I'm all for it.

Saddest story in the news today: teen-aged Thelma & Louise. Police search for missing teen girls. Translation for the hetero-ignorant, they're lovers! Let me explain with quotes:
"The Crites' family is especially worried because of an entry in her diary, which said, "Wherever I end up laying, whether buried or cremated, I want to stay with my true love, buried next to her. This is my choice. I'm sorry." Troy Crites, Rachel's father told NBC4, "She sings in the choir in the Catholic church. She's just a great kid. I just don't understand what's going on." "
You don't understand? The girl is gay, and her catholic family is more concerned about their churchy upbringing and artificial reality of voluntary gays than any love for their daughter. Hell, they're catholic - probably have 8 more. Notice their first comment to the press is that she sings in the church choir...not that they fear for their daughter, or that they love her no matter where she is or WHAT SHE DOES. I know the girls are doomed - that the only way runaways can make a living is through whoring, but god I hope that girls gets the hell away from her family. That inter-family hate and horror is what this "war on gays" is resulting in. It's not just living room talk, its destroying real lives every day.
