Aug. 28th, 2006 07:20 amOwie! Jen and I ran a measly 5 miles yesterday, and um...well I was fine for 4 miles. I ran slow, as she is better about pacing. I often run 2-4 miles. We ran my course that I thought was 4 miles, then I thought Gmaps pedometer said was only 3, then Jen found was really the 4 I thought it was originally. Well, I was fine until we got to where i usually stop, and we went another mile up Wilson to Rhodes. There she kicked my royal behind, w/o really working up a sweat. By the time we got home I was about a half block behind her, and that only because she was going slow. I refused to stop but couldn't muster any speed.
So the cool thing is she is doing great, and I am inspired to get back on the running track. The bad thing is that I've slipped, and I'm not sure how to increase my bench, recover my running ability while avoiding shin splints (my muscles aren't sore, yet, but my shins don't feel so hot), keep my job and go to law school - simultaneously.
It was a gorgeous weekend, though my pre-faire time with Jen Friday and with Colin/Nadra Sat left me playing catch-up with my homework all Sun.
I want to hear happy music, but my collection (which I have not updated in ages) is all sad, angry, artsy, and otherwise not happy. I'm tired of the disco/funk. I discovered the sugarcubes and they are my current happy music, but for hippie stuff I'm listening to new age crap and this http://hos.com/ that I used to hear when WETA played music.
I'm in full-school-mode now. I'm too scared to slack the way I said I would. 11 months minus 3 days to go.
