Jun. 1st, 2006 02:13 pmOh goodie - was just given word that a shooting followed by a high-speed chase led to a gas tanker overturning on 295 and it is shut down entirely!

Kenilworth Ave. & Anacostia Fwy. Northbound at Eastern Ave. NE
Vehicle on fire: **all lanes blocked** CLEANUP AND INVESTIGATION OF THIS MORNING'S TANKER TRUCK FIRE. EB AND WB RTE 50 TRAFFIC CANNOT GO SOUTH ON KENILWORTH AVE--NB 295 is taken off at THE 11TH ST BRIDGE. SB BW PKWY IS DIVERTED ONTO RTE 50/NY AVE
That would, under common circumstances, be my route home. Looks like I'll be going around the beltway today.
On the other hand, checking traffic gave me this little beyoot:

Concert: THURS, JUNE 1 AT 8 PM AT WOLF TRAP FARM PARK. LYNYRD SKYNYRD CONCERT
Do you actually yell "Free Bird!" at a Skynyrd show, or is it solely a term now used to heckle another band's show? "Who-hoo! Yee-ah!"
