I can't believe the news is still full of the coronation. Look - we know i'm not a Bush fan, but this would suck no matter who won the election. The fact that it involves rednecks just makes it that much worse. Don't believe me? Check out this fashion crime as noted by [personal profile] joanarkham

In any case, so what? This isn't news, nothing is happening. I guess I'm weird - I don't care about ceremonies and speeches. I care about events and news that affects me. Strange note from this AM: I watched Fox news more than the networks because they were showing more news and less speech/parade coverage.

I'd also like to thank the protesters for totally taking any meaning out of protesting. I'm sorry, I have a lot of friends who have protested - on this list - but while I agree with them on issues I think that by protesting now they diminish the message of protesting. We lost, move on. Protest decisions that haven't been made, battles that aren't yet lost. What is the point of protesting? Protesting now increases the noise to signal ratio and makes it even less likely that the protests that DID NOTHING before the election will do even less in the future. Sure they're evil, but if we're smart let's use our brains for actually making change instead of just whining to make ourselves feel better. If that's not what's going on, then I have to say the message isn't getting out there.
EDIT - ok this was kind of cool: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=578&e=4&u=/nm/20050121/ts_nm/bush_protests_dc
"It's beyond comprehension the damage this man has done," said Meredith Lair, 32, who just completed a doctorate in history at Pennsylvania State University. "I think it's horrifying what we're doing to Iraq," said Lair, who was carrying a sign that read, "Mr. Bush, under my mittens I'm giving you the finger." Notice she's another well educated anti-Bush...they go together so often!

I'm STILL COUGHING and not happy about it. I have tons of work to do at both work and school this weekend, and literally not enough hours to get it all done. So much for an easy semester. I miss the gym. Yes, grumpy I am.

I'm in real trouble. I have been dragging down all day, and after sleeping in 2 shirts for an hour I'm still tired and shivering. I can't stop coughing, and I'm really just half-heartedly doing it now. Too tired, muscles too sore. New temp = 100. Your expected wait time is. 17. Minutes. Enjoy your light rock. Yes, I'm going to get some FUCKING DRUGS before it snows. I have to write a paper this weekend, and am meeting with my boss with bad news on Monday, with an external audit on Wed. My ass gonna be sore when all is said and done, dig? Why now...
