Let's try that again

I almost always view everyone's LJ from my friend's view, which is simply default formatting. Once in a blue moon, I go to an LJ directly - and see all the formatting changes made by the author. What seems odd to me is that it appears the people that do the least writing do the most elaborate formatting of their LJ.
