When you flick your finger, or snap, you build pressure slowly to press one finger against another. When the pressure is released, the finger travels quickly. You cannot make your finger move that quick merely by pulling the muscles into a contraction - it takes a trick to get that kind of speed. Similarly, punching and kicking motions are only done quickly by using the body to build a tension which is then propelled through the offending limb as though it were being a whip cracked at its target. Only the guidance of the person directs the blow, but the speed is again slow without the trick of playing muscles along with release of friction from other sources and an increase of speed as the body itself is also moved toward the target. The body can build a slow steady pressure which may be released in forms that cause quick movement, but muscle movement is quite slow overall.
What pathetic creatures. Overcome biology.
