Vince found an old article noting that christianity was disfavored by the founding fathers of the US, though there is a contrast between their private letters on the subject and their public speeches:

This is a great politically neutral article debating which presidential candidate would be better for the economy, first the pro-Kerry argument, then the pro-Bush argument:
