_blackjack_ and cyntergomes are my favorite geeks. I wonder if they are in a contest to attempt to stylishly outgeek one another. Space age Gerbil farms and computer cat cases? Appreciation of county fairs? Damn.
I remember a short time ago when they were hunting down kids who were 'setting off bombs' near a school, and it was such a hot priority it was on the news. The bombs in question were made of 2L bottles, vinegar, and baking soda. Bombs? Uh, I used to do that same thing with butter tubs when I was a lad. Why is this a threat? Why is a 6th grade science trick now considered in league with terrorism? How can newscasters read these stories with straight faces? I don't mean to complain though - any excuse to lock up suburban white kids is fine with me.
I haven’t taken much time to rag on that Alabama Judge. Again, how can newscasters read these stories with straight faces? Imagine if you were a christian, and you were so insecure that you considered it deathly important to display an icon of your religion in a government facility. Never mind that taxpayer dollars paid for this monstrosity, it is now just amusing to watch the xtians falling out all over one another in an effort to defend this glorious rock. Uh, dude...you just put the thing there. It’s not history. It’s old testament, most of which you ignore anyway. Uh, it’s in an area covered by that whole separation of church and state issue. I guess the separation of church and state is still being fought, so that religion can be shoved down my throat along with the throats of my offspring? Amazing - again, can you imagine being so insecure?
Why is Apple cool, and windows evil? This computer worm has me working at home today since the computers have crashed, due to lazy gummint morons not updating their widows xp, or the contractors failing to auto-update as many private firms do. Don’t people remember that before upstart windows was out there, that apple was the disgusting evil monopoly? The only reason we have the computers we do today is that apple was so arrogant that one lil mistake by IBM in releasing patents led to the pc we know and love today. Now apple is the big answer to computers, this monopoly that won’t let anyone work with their systems, is the anti-establishment icon?
I don’t blame Bill Gates for the flaws in his operating system. I’m sure if 5 million geeks decided linux or unix was the enemy, that they’d probe holes in them as well. It’s a moot point, Gates owns you geeks! Pwn joo!
