May. 15th, 2003 11:52 amToday I received my first piece of correspondence addressed with the suffix “Esq.” Fuck law school, I’m already bearing the disgraceful label! It burns, it burns! I received the artificial title today when a Judge accepted my motion to dismiss a case mua ha ha!

We settled our case during the deposition, hence the hasty return. We basically had the guy, but this Mr. Rodgers look-a-like just wanted ‘to clear his good name.’ He had a good work history, and we knew the principal witness was no longer available so we were happy to close the case at that stage. Everybody left happy – I love that. It’s fun to be mean to an ass, but when the person is really a decent fellow (or gal – check my dialect!) I’m much more inclined to try and leave the table with all parties feeling like they got a fair shake.
The trend of starting off with a negative impression and having it corrected is getting a little tiresome. What’s up with all this optimistic bullshit? I’m not wrong – it all sucks! Sucks, I tell you!
