It's funny how the statistics are not debated - the taliban kill far more people, including civilians of course, than the US military by a wide margin yet the US is unpopular and protested in public. The explanations I hear are that the taliban kills people who speak out - while the US military is held to a much higher standard. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Oddly proud, hopeful, and incredibly discouraged?

I looked at the PTO job in more detail and it's more labour oriented. I don't really favor LR issues so much as beating down frivolous EEO cases and doing MSPB work. Hmph.

Are you talking Afghanistan? First, I'm not sure if that is strictly true, especially given the US reluctance to count civilian casualties. But regardless, people are far more tolerant of violence perpetrated by their own than they are of violence from outsiders. This is especially true in Afghanistan, where the only thing that brings the various groups together is a foreign invasion.

To provide an analogy, Americans kill a lot more Americans than foreign terrorists do, but we don't react with nearly the horror.

I didn't realize there was (A) a scene and (B) that there were points involved. Aren't scenes for young, pretty people?

My profile picture is ten years old. Primarily because it is a picture of me holding my cat on her first day in my care! *mew* I'm not 30lbs lighter in it - i may even be heavier.
