Forgot to mention that we got a permit for yesterday's protest, and while there the police showed up along with the media vans. One of the police officers (ugh, cop!) came up to me and said hi - I know him! He's in my condo assoc and comes to meetings sometimes, so we talked to say hi and about the upcoming condo meeting and stuff. I think it calmed a couple student's nerves to see a friendly conversation between one of the supervising officers and one of the protest "organizers." (I didn't do much compared to some of our other members).

Kip, the gay cop! Well, that's how some friends knew him, but as it turns out there is some possibility he is gay. First of all, he's gay. Second, he's a cop. Then there are these mentions:
