Imagine if those practicing law and medicine were paid based upon their success? I know this is true in many cases, but even if a lawyer is on the losing side, he still gets paid by someone, right? I seem to remember seeing "legal fees" as part of the judgments in several instances.

But...as you mention competency (and the listing with its highlight mental retardation or illness) ... sorry, you lost, no pay, no food.
