I'm not usually into ceremonies, but I absolutely loved the strongly worded speech Yoyoma put on. As jukebox noted, Aretha's hat. What was awkward for me was watching the horrible poem. Read. Awfully. By. That. Woman. So I don't know poetry and Janna does, so I had to carefully wait until she started loudly retching at the abuse of the english language that was taking place. Then I knew my opinion wasn't wrong. That poetry sucked.

What I'm really sucking up is my pride after the clothespin incident.

Am I the only one who was moved by that poem? I thought it was inspiring and her delivery was perfect for the solemn occasion.

Absolutely. "The brown can stick around." Now there's poetry that resonates.

I liked it too, though not to a Robert Frost level. I thought she was a "safe" choice, as was his actual speech. Fine, but not amazing.
