Fitting in/not fitting in is a powerful thing.

I've been thinking about it myself, lately. My theory is that America is really a tribal society, but with a veneer of "classlessness". Therefore, if you don't fit in, it's because there is something wrong with you. Buck up, pull on those bootstraps, and get an SUV and a McMansion, son!

We're all just muddling through.
