well, you know me, i am always the Apologist for Normals everywhere, even though my brain is big and i'm not afraid of the dark, so on that note, i've kind of just gotten over the whole holiday thing.
I mean, yeah, it's pretty arbitrary, but i have gotten to the point in my life where i find my decision making process to be a lot less "why?" do something than "why not?". So i try and have fun with things that come from Out There and also make them my own.
Holidays give us the opportunity to think about a specific concept and meditate on it. Especially with the internet being what it is, you can know for sure that there are lots of opportunities to communicate on that concept, knowing there are others out there thinking on the same subject. Kind of like national novel writer's month or whatever.
Just because it's traditional doesn't mean it has to be banal.
