Not to mention that regular poison is not effective against rats. They need to use tasteless/odorless ones that basically cause the rat to die over time from internal bleeding. And the poisons that effect this are then also perceived as food by other animals, such as pets, etc. And if there are cats/dogs, and they happen to catch and kill a rat, they're ingesting the concentrated poison dosage.
