At the 2nd interview they said they would contact me, job or no, by the end of the week. It's about 5pm on Friday and I have heard nothing. I can only assume I didn't get the job.

Or that if you get the job your hours will be REALLLLLY long. (I used to tell clients I would get to something at the end of the day for the next morning and get snippy emails at 7pm saying "I though you were going to email me when you left work at the end of the day for the next day!" and I'd write back at 7:05pm and say "well, I'm still at work - the day isn't over".)
