My read on the thing:

While Bush continues with the mealy mouthed, inarticulate, content free recital of his "hard work" and "changing positions on the issues" talking points, Kerry has two overall debate choices: He can defend himself and his record with a strong demeanor, in which case some people will think he looks mean, or he can be nice and be accused of not providing any information on the issues.

I actually thought he came off as remarkably nice, considering how hard he worked to show distinctions between himself and W. But then I wanted to reach through the screen, grab our appointed president, and stick his head down the garbage disposal.

As for Kerry being a corporate, machine democrat, of course he is. No one else would be a viable candidate at the national level. He is, however, strong on a number of domestic issues I feel are important, and I believe he will be more credible in international affairs. Also, John Edwards is not a reanimated corpse resurrected from the early 1980s. But that's a whole 'nother thing.
