You remind me of how the feminist arguments against porn make no sense in the males watching male-on-male porn world. As though everything wrong with porn would be fixed by an erasure of gender differences.

But the male-on-male world has plenty of potential for exploitation based on things other than gender differences. What about the middle-aged male who has a six-figure income, who chases after younger, nonwhite, lower-income fellas as a BDSM Sugar Daddy top? Using that racial and income privilege to enter into controlling relationships. This definitely happens. But it can also be consensual from the viewpoint of the bottom, in terms of this being his best option for getting ahead and meeting his own needs.

Sometimes I think what is missing from all the left-wing -isms is an acceptance that inequality is a powerful force that can never be completely eradicated, and that each person needs to make her own decisions about how to meet her own needs and get ahead in the world. Talking about inequalities won't make them disappear, and within each group there are more kinds of inequalities; i.e., inequality is fractal. And the way group identities work, even if two different groups are broadly equal to each other in power, within those groups you will still find people who resent the other group (see Democrats vs. Republicans)!

The world of humanity is a mess! :-)
