It was my observation when I lived in DC that the goth women were either XS or XL. Which isn't surprising given that most of us became goths after having been bullied, and it makes sense that many were bullied for our shapes. Fat teenager/young adult finds an accepting home in the goth scene. Twenty years of living in a scene that accepts them, fat goth's memories of bullying have faded and they can objectively assess their own health situation and make a commitment to getting fitter.

The girls who had the ideal hourglass figures, on the other hand, hit 30 and got fat. Maybe they're the ones who are still fat?
