I woke up from a dream where I was a criminal lawyer, and a former client who had killed a family before was killing his entire family again (foster family?) because he found the idea of being jailed or executed less adverse than the effort it would take to go through therapy. He was murdering because he was too lazy for the alternative.
I think the symbolism must have been political.
I keep getting invites from Plaxo and linkedin - but I don't use "social networks" for professional purposes. I guess I keep the accounts in case things change.
Wait a minute! We're extending the tax cuts for the wealthy in the name of the economy - but the indisputable proof that there is no "trickle down spending" aka "supply side economics," That was the famous "mistake" of the Reagan administration - during which the disparity of wealth increased as the rich got richer and the middle class became the poor (and the deficit was tripled). You may have an argument for avoiding austerity for the poor and middle class, but tax cuts on the rich on the same basis are inconsistent with recent history.
Edit - I would like to note I left a mall not-for-the-first-time yesterday due to loud and AWFUL XMAS MUSIC. I like classical music, even xmas music, and can listen to anything from rap to country...but cannot stand light or sterile mall music or muzak. I had to leave not just because of the horrible content, but the volume. I'm seriously about to go shopping with foam construction-level earplugs. One more reason to go 100% online for shopping.
