eljay - I need to post my Austria pictures, I need to post my hotel in Minn. pics

On my way to the club the other night, I was walking down the street when I passed a group of 4 young genuine-urban black men. One of them was in a wheelchair, and it was cool as he put flashing multicolored lights on the small front wheels. However, as I approached one said - I thought to his friend at first - "What would you do if I smacked the shit out of you?" I only realized it was a comment to me as we passed each other. I kept going, same pace, but perked my ears up only enough to hear them slow and laugh amongst themselves. Honestly I was ready to tear into them, not sure whether any had a gun or not (they looked really sketchy, for-real sketchy not dressed to impress) but none made any moves to pusue or make the matter more pressing. They had their victory and moved on.

I think part of my reaction, well part was feeling they were small enough even together to take on reasonably. The other thing was I was just watching all the hipsters converging on the area, their home, for the hipster atmosphere. I think I'd be hostile, too, at the invasion of my dirty scrappy neighborhood by a bunch of lily-white rich kids stumbling around drunk and stupid.

Minor note - I'm sick of clubs with hidden entrances. I guess that's so you feel exclusive, like you've snuck into a word-of-mouth speakeasy, but really it's just an annoyance to me.

Lovely weekends in B'more and the urge to post, the time to do so, evaporates. I did just buy 2 oil lamps, a double-shot glass, and an old fashioned key from an antique store. If I want, the entire store is for sale including 5 bedrooms (1 bath) modest kitchen home above it, full basement, with a parking lot for 6 in the back for only a quarter mil. If it weren't commercial I could see doing it for that price, but what would I do with an antique row storefront? A few dumb dreams pop up, but my secure gummint job keeps winning out (especially now as things appear to be going so well).
